My new years resolutions/to do list for '08 where:
- To join a gym - I did this in August, but Ive only been around 4 times. Thats shameful.
- To get my theory test done - this one is on hold until I get serious about driving.
- To get driving lessons - As above.
- Read more. I am so lazy when it comes to reading. Throughout high school I managed to get through without reading the books we were studying. lol. Friends would lend me books they would recommend but they would just sit in my bag and tear. lol. The only time I would read was on the beach, and any other time, I would make the excuse to myself that nothing was worth reading, but the bible. This year Ive read alot more books than I ever have before and although I still think that reading the bible is better than reading a million other books, I am proud of the fact Im actually reading.lol
- To be more involved at my church. - Christmas time last year I made friends with the lovely woman at church and she asked if I was a member of a cell group. By January I was a member of her cell group and she is the best cell leader, AND most of my cell group are my best friends since I was a teen. =D so blessed! Also completed the 'Living Free' and 'Mastering Leadership' courses at church and helped out with different areas of the church.
- Practise piano - I dont think I even touched the piano all year. This one deserves a whole blog of its own but Ill cut the long story short....... I have a love/hate relationship with playing the piano. My mum loved me playing the piano but when I was a kid I hated the chore of practising. My grade 6 piano exam was on December the 2nd, 2000 at 3pm. That same time, my mum passed away. I didnt go to my exam cos that morning she was very weak. If I had gone, I would not have seen her pass away. Its like the story line for 'save the last dance' where she had her ballet exam on the day her mum died, except she was at the exam whilst her mum had the car accident. After that she had a love/hate relationship with ballet, except she got over it and danced. I have yet to get over it and play.
- Save - not happening. lol
- Make everyday more productive - This was a really good one and I think im taking this one on to 2009. Because of this, Ive made alot of personal progress this year and Im not going to stop now.
Other highlights of 08:
- Cousins wedding.
- Holiday in the Philippines =D
- Learnt the difference between what God was saying, and what I wanted to hear.
- Shared my faith with people at work.
- Holiday to Portugal with the best friends EVER. That holiday was a blessing =D thank you lord. I pray we stay as blessed as we were on the holiday.
- Found bible promises that I have been standing on regarding my family situation (will post about this).
- Found my direction for '09! =D
Im so excited about 2009.
